Strawberry Orange Shake
Sometimes I really don’t feel like cooking. I know this is surprising coming from someone who has a food blog! But every week brings its own challenges and this week was definitely a work work work kinda week. When this happens, I turn to quick short cuts which make my life easier and give me energy to keep going. If they’re delicious and healthy along with being quick then that’s definitely a triple win. I had learned of Muniq through a former coworker who sent me a few samples after I did some freelance work for them (this is not a sponsored post btw). At first, I’ll admit I was a little skeptical. I’ve tried quite a few shakes in the past and regardless of how good they are for you, most can’t get past my flavor standards. How great could this be? It has green bananas in it after all. Well, I tried it and I couldn’t believe how good it was! It tastes like you’re having dessert for breakfast and you don’t even have to feel guilty about it. Muniq has gut health benefits which are the foundation for good health. Take care of your gut and it will take care of you. Read more about green bananas, resistant starch, and gut health below.

How Green Bananas are Good for Your Gut
Think carbs are bad for you? Think again. Green bananas — one of the main ingredients in Muniq shakes — contain resistant starch, a type of carb, that is great for your gut health. Clinical studies have shown that resistant starch like the kind found in green bananas, unripe potatoes, oats, and high-amylose maize, help reduce inflammation, control blood sugar levels, aid in digestion, and strengthen immunity — something we all need more of now! A resistant starch is a type of prebiotic fiber that feeds the beneficial bacteria in your gut. It gets its name from the fact that it resists digestion (and conversion into glucose in our small intestine) and reaches all the way into our large intestine where it works its magic. Since 80% of the body’s immune cells reside in the gut, it makes sense to take care of it and help feed it well. Try Muniq shakes and let me know below how you like them!
